Bidenomics Is Working

My congressman, David Schweikert, wants you to believe otherwise. He’s ignoring the data.

Republican David Schweikert became my congressman at the beginning of this year. Even though he’s been in Congress since 2011, he barely eked out a victory over newcomer Jevin Hodge. There’s speculation he may not be so lucky next time.

I imagine he’s not happy with the hand dealt him by this decade’s redistricting. But then, neither am I. Until this year, I was represented by former Phoenix mayor Greg Stanton, who like me is a Democrat. I thought, though, that being represented by Schweikert might create an opportunity for me to express my views to someone in the opposing party. At least Schweikert, despite having to pay $50,000 in 2020 for ethics violations, didn’t seem aligned with such GOP crazies as Matt Gaetz, Lauren Bobert, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and from my state, Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar.

I’ve contacted Schweikert’s office three times about different issues, but I’ve not received so much as a canned response. So much for acknowledging your constituents’ concerns.

On the other hand, his emails to me and other constituents come on a regular basis. The one I received July 10 was headlined “Bidenomics Isn’t Working.” Rather than send a response to his office, I thought I’d share my thoughts more publicly.
